Friday March 3

College Night

More information: Hey students! Take a break from the books and dive into this exclusive after hour Aquarium event. Enjoy a night with food trucks, a live DJ and special guest Matrix Arcade who will be demonstrating virtual reality. College ID must be shown at the ticket window for $12.95 admission.

First Fridays: Mardi Gras

When: 6:30- 9:30 p.m.

More information: New month, new First Friday! This month’s theme is Mardi Gras! Join the community and support local vendors and artists as they come together to celebrate the New Orleans style. Get there early for a chance to see the Mardi Gras Parade starting at Georgie’s Place and will be led by the Sea Funk Brass Band. Costumes are encouraged!

80’s Karaoke and Lip Sync Night

When: 9 – 10:30 p.m.

Where: The Pie Bar, 450 Pine Avenue, Long Beach, California 90802

More information: Have the chance to sing your favorite 80s songs at the top of your lungs at the Pie Bar. The night will be filled with a lot of liquid courage with beer, wine and sangria at $2 off.

Saturday March 4

 

Beachcon

When: March 4/5 12 – 8 p.m.

Where: The Pointe at the Pyramid, 1250 Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90840

More information: This weekend the CSULB Pyramid will be transformed into a fantasy world of games. This is the 12th year for the Beachcon, presented by CSULB eSports, which will have gaming tournaments, freeplay, food, festivities and more.

L.A. Story

More information: MOLAA is working in partnership with Antonio Pelayo Productions to present L.A. Story, an evening that will celebrate L.A.’s Chicano lifestyle and car culture with a special pop-up art exhibition curated by Pep Williams.

Selena tribute: The Como La Flor Band

More information: Bidi bidi bam bam your way over to the Gaslamp for a night of tribute songs to “la legenda” Selena.  This is a 21+ event; advance tickets are $15 and doors open at 8 p.m.

Downtown Tree Planting

Where: Along Broadway between Pine Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard

More information: Join the Downtown Residential Council (DRC) and Promenade Area Residents Association (PARA) as they plant 15 Tabebuia Trees. Gloves, Shovels, and Garbage Bags will be provided.

Nectarines Vinyl Release Show

More information: Join the Nectarines for this “Goth-du-wop and dark heartbreak style of music at the Vinyl release show. This latest project will give heartbreak vibes with a sweet dramatic tale of chance encounters and strong friendships forged over casual dating-therapy and jam sessions.
